Lucia is in Sales at Skagit Gardens, Inc, a wholesale grower of annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables located in the beautiful Skagit Valley of Washington State.  Her work takes her all around the Rocky Mountain region, visiting nurseries and landscapers, promoting the latest and greatest plants for home gardens, container gardening, and commercial landscaping.  Returning to Montana is always a pleasure for Lucia, having lived and gardened in Bozeman for several years after graduating from MSU.

I am a career Horticulturist with a rich Dutch family history being the fourth generation involved in Horticulture dating back to 1870 with greatgrandfather being a tulip breeder/grandfather/mother violets/begonias in the Netherlands. I have degrees in Agri-Business Management and another in Horticulture from colleges in Iowa where we still have a century farm located in Boyden, Iowa. I am married to Barbara wife of 30+ yrs.a missionary to Africa/Dominican Republic, and have 2 sons, Dr.Joshua Dokter, chiropractor,Lone Tree,CO,and Adam a commercial pilot for Republic Airways in St. Louis as well as Courtney Smith in graduate school, Ft.Collins,CO  getting her DR. of Occupacational Medicine.
I currently am the Horticulturist/Senior Account Manager for Syngenta Horticultural Services and manage 7 states working with the green industry to provide the best genetics/consul/planning and plant material to the industry. My passion and hobbies include snowshoeing in the winter and hiking mtns. In the summer as seen here in the pictures.
